Sheila Jenkinson was born and raised on a farm in rural Northeast Nebraska. She and her husband Clark have two kids, both in college. She worked in radio as an on-air personality for over twenty years for three Nebraska radio stations. Sheila got her start in 1998 at KLIR 101.1FM/KJSK as a News Director and Morning Show Co-host and then moved on to US92 92.7FM starting on the air with the premiere of the station in May, 2000, again as News Director and Morning Show Co-host. She also hosted a midday shift and later switched to part time for the rest of her radio days as she focused on raising their kids. Her education includes a bachelor's degree in communications with a minor in theatre arts from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. She is currently obtaining a certificate in copyediting from the University of California at San Diego extension program and a certificate in ASL (American Sign Language) through StartASL.com. Besides the podcast, she is also a freelance copyeditor and public speaker.
Growing up, Sheila enjoyed many hours fishing with her dad, exploring fun things to do throughout Nebraska with her mom, and getting together with her three older sisters.
Sheila loves the friendliness of the people in the Cornhusker state. She appreciates the rural life and the many activities available throughout the state, especially in small-town Nebraska. She always looks for a new adventure, and Nebraska does not disappoint!
